Lack of leadership, turnover & work-life balance
Pros
There are some truly talented people within the company and a variety of client types across a ton of industries. It’s dynamic in that way and nice that it’s not specialized in one thing. The PTO is good, given that the common thing these days is ‘unlimited’. Health insurance is decent—not the best, but certainly not the worst.
Cons
There are several so here we go. There is no focus on wellness or mental health, especially during these trying times. There is no priority on work-life balance whatsoever and there is a reason you see this comment in most of the reviews. If you’re on PTO, expect to work. It’s a 24/7 work culture. Everyone is really understaffed yet we are constantly pitching new business and taking on clients with no real plan on who will service them. It’ll just get assigned to the closest person regardless of how many accounts they are already on, which ultimately affects the quality of work that can be delivered. And with all of that, it is below average pay, especially for the junior staff. Salaries are not competitive even though they say they are. With a very top-heavy company, the senior leaders just create more work and stress for everyone else and are not respectful to the staff who run the accounts. Senior leaders just keep getting awards for themselves. And there is no clear career path for those who want to move up or any type of development program. With everyone so strapped it’s hard to even discuss this, especially because there is no clear accountability. There is no structure anywhere so it’s a free for all on everything. Teams struggle to collaborate because there is no structure in place and the work that teams do can’t even be leveraged by others because, at this state, it’s impossible. Everyone is constantly reinventing the wheel and leaders don’t seem to be concerned about that even though turnover is increasing like crazy. All that seems to happen are these acquisitions, with no thought on how to integrate them. Instead, they end up competing against each other. There seems to be no real goal with the acquisitions either, just growing and increasing just because it makes us bigger. It’s a major turn off to employees who have been here to see that the investment is not being made in them or their understaffed teams. Just because a place experiences growth does not make it a good place if it’s crippling people. People and process are clearly not top of mind, and I highly doubt that will ever change.
