Pros

A very successful company that invests in its employees and provides opportunities for global travel. Pension is the differentiator above an average benefits package.

Cons

In the past decade, constant management changes have resulted in incessant chaos. What was once a company of dedicated, long-tenured employees is now seeing unprecedented turnover--both voluntary and involuntary. Marketing "leadership" took a turn for the worse following the retirement of the former CMO. New leader was brought in from outside, and has earned a reputation for running a corporate sweatshop. Division was completely reorganized two years ago, resulting in chaos and myopic strategy. Morale is at an all-time low, and the majority of my former colleagues are planning their exits if they aren't being shown the door. Sadly, company loyalty is a thing of the past. Look elsewhere. FM Global's best days are behind it from an employee perspective.

Cons

There have been atleast 3 major pivots in the past few years - the recent one being growth via contractors without making the contractors accountable for their output. The entire technology department is a mess. Power is concentrated amongst few people. If they like you, then you will be a success here , else its back to the shadows for you. And for them to like you, you have to drink the kool-aid and be agreeable. Growth within the company is based on relationships and the teams you work in - people are not measured on equal terms and there is rampant favoritism. Every new employee is like a new toy and becomes the flavor of the month until they are replaced by a newer employee. There is no hope for alternative viewpoints. Classic case of group-think but most of them do not even realize that. This company should be a hard pass for now but hopefully they change.
