Pros

Opportunities for career advancement. The senior management teams enables you to learn new technologies and attend regular training. You are strongly encouraged to move beyond your scope of responsibilities and experiment with new technologies and process to achieve greater efficiencies for the organization. The culture is one of accountability and the senior leadership team gives you the latitude to achieve your professional aspirations.

Cons

The compensation is not typically in line with your roles and responsibilities. HR needs to do a better job of aligning with job market.

Pros

As this company provides hemo-dialysis services the job security is very high because there is no known cure for kidnee failure, it is a good feeling to know you are serving people less fortunate than yourself at least in a health sense.

Cons

As a maintainance technician I am the red headed step child of the company, it is geared mostly for the nursing staff who work directly with patients while we in the background are largely ignored or at best tolerated. An example of this attitude is in the purchase of repair parts where each penny is scurtinized while nursing staff are allowed to be waistfull in there preference and use of consumable goods such as gloves they must have the higher price gloves because they feel better than the gloves costing $0.10 less per box brand. And of course business managers think of themselfs as high mighty beter than everybody else even though a technical degree requires more study and work than a business or liberal arts major. While nursing staff can and do recieve financial assistance to further their education from the company a technician is totally on his own. Personally when centralized technical services was implemented I was reduced from Chief technican to maintenance tech and thus overpaid for my job title and not eligable for merrit pay increases, this transition took 12 chief techs into a pool with only three supervisory slotts.
