Pros

Great people within the worker bee and some of the OM circle who try and help each other out.

Cons

Micromanaging culture; very adverse to honest feedback; management always right; management quick to point out failures; feedback for improvement is vague and one-sided and not helpful; management does NOT take accountability for challenges/failures working line blamed with no top cover; management hide behind emails and do not address issues; HR personnel no help with mgmt/employee conflict; not trust worthy; everyone talks about what happens to everyone at the management level sharing things with people who have no reason to be aware of issues; there is no development or coaching or useful one-on-one with mgmt - they sit in these meetings tuned out and unprepared with nothing to say until something goes wrong; no motivation to come to work; very political and cliche

Pros

I previously worked as an instructor for 22 years. My professional growth was limited to a new class to teach. My specialty was SharePoint and I was considered an "expert" by many students/commands/companies. But I had little practical experience. FTI has given me the opportunity to do what I love and gain experience at the same time. There are new challenges every day and I need that stimulation to be happy. I love to learn. The people that I work with in the Chesapeake office, and those employees I’ve interacted with at other locations, are incredible. The sense of family and camaraderie is evident. The culture in Chesapeake is dedication, commitment, growth, and I enjoy coming to work. It also gets a little bit crazy at holiday parties! I love the fact that I can work at home on occasion. If I have a doctor's appointment or something else that needs to be done during the day, we're given the opportunity to work at home. I live a considerable distance away from the office and I've been able to work from home in extremely bad weather. Employees are treated as adults and are trusted to get the job done.

Cons

While I understand how time is charged to a contract, as a SharePoint Developer I support many different areas of the company. It would be much easier if I was overhead for the whole company. It gets rather tedious keeping it all straight.

Pros

The leadership, especially those who have been around for a few years, truly shine in sharing the vision and plan. The culture of the company is regularly reinforced and acted on by all levels. They strive to do right by their customers and employees.

Cons

With the growth, I think there are some challenges keeping up. How to keep the technology fresh, the customers happy and the employees engaged all at once while constantly growing?
