      Some really good people and some really bad ones.

      Pros

      I love working with such close contact to the actual caregivers. It did feel like the work I was doing could directly impact the care patients were receiving. There were also a handful of coworkers who were downright brilliant - but, unfortunately, they weren't always the ones in the management positions.

      Cons

      I was working as an analyst in a relatively new group. My coworkers were really nice, but I wasn't convinced that the team had much of a solid vision. We seemed to be another cog in the giant wheel of healthcare spending, and weren't really working towards any greater good.

      pays the bills until you find a place and a boss that you actually WANT to work for

      low standards formal leadership gets drunk with their employees and if you don't join them, you're bullied when you complain about the bullying and poor office etiquette, it gets worse, not better the raises are pathetic health benefits are expensive on the paycheck and out of your pocket real concerns about patient safety doesn't seem to be accounted for no communication from leadership must be in a clique to not have your lunch stolen from the refrigerator suggestions aren't listened to ...the list goes on

      A good employer with terrible upper management.

      Pros

      My department was a great place to work with a solid supervisor and great co-workers. Benefits, especially medical, were above par on every level.

      Cons

      The upper management mismanaged the budget and had to balance the budget by laying people off en masse. The cuts were arbitrary and the people working HR knew it (and said so). They seem to have no clue what their overall business plan is other than trying to compete with Mayo and the other Children's hospitals instead of carving out their own niche.
