Pros

At the end of the day it’s a paycheck

Cons

Leadership favors certain groups, including conservative evangelical christians, creating inequity among employees. Transphobia and harassment go unaddressed. Workplace culture is cliquey and dismissive. Accountability is virtually nonexistent. Equity and inclusion are treated as buzzwords rather than practice.

Pros

Great health benefits, $500 stipend per year for employee wellness. Co-workers are, for the most part, friendly and kind if they are younger. Tuition reimbursement if you work full-time on top of going to school.

Cons

Workqueue was overflowing, management truly doesn't care about employees and doesn't support them to meet quotas. If you bring up problems, they say that they will support you, but nothing ever changes. Numbers matter more to them than people. If you don't understand something or are new to using EPIC, nurses and doctors will be very rude to you as they expect you to just magically know their schedule, even when you ask for them to explain. If you are not meeting quotas, management will put you on a team where other co-workers phrase it as "setting you up for failure." Most of the time, you will be on the phone making appointments that don't even count as your quota numbers if placed on this team. One of the managers who used to work there wanted to change things, but the supervisor made them quit because they realized how horrible the rest of the upper management was running things. They wanted to improve the lives of schedulers and patients, and eventually left because the work culture was so disingenuous. Management is very micromanaging, which I understand is needed in healthcare to make sure everything is running smoothly. They will audit your clicks, however, which is completely ridiculous and feels incredibly invasive.

Pros

You work remote which is nice. You do learn a lot of information about prior authorization steps and various detailed info on insurance companies.

Cons

Workload expectations are unrealistic. Workques are messy. You will be stuck in your chair all day trying to get everything done. Rarely is there any downtime, and when there is they will make sure you do something, even if that "something" is "busy work".
