Pros

Laid back atmosphere. Always involved in the sports world.

Cons

Pay and benefits. Pay is significantly under average pay for my position. Only given 10 PTO days total for sick and vacation days. No maternity leave. Not much room for growth.

Pros

Very casual, friendly environment. CEO Doug Mack seems pretty good at his job. Nice to be working in sports. Plenty of gallows humor and camaraderie among the condemned!

Cons

Ruthless director who lacks interpersonal skills. No career path. Role not clearly defined and constantly changing. Overworked. Underpaid. No sense of being valued as a person. Very obvious that our director views entire team as pawns in his dog-eat-dog game with his peers. Minimal benefits. In terms of the code base, its a complete free for all. Very little documentation. Lots of poorly written, poorly maintained software. Every project becomes a nightmare due to unrealistic deadlines and difficulties coordinating activities of multiple interdependent teams.

Pros

Time off requests approved Interesting and modern tech stack Opportunities to learn KMP and full stack as front end engineer Could be great if placed on the right team Highly Intelligent engineers

Cons

New Management is terrible in betting and gaming division, old manager was wonderful but was fired so an engineer who wasn’t doing their job could step into management role instead. Seems to be a culture of how can I always get ahead rather than excel in your own role Managers play favorites and constantly bring in unplanned work items in the middle or end of sprint and then say you’re not meeting deadlines if you don’t get them done on top of your committed work. Management sucks up to director and gives unrealistic promises to them, then throws engineers under the bus for their poor management if something outside of engineer control goes wrong Manager also misaligns core values with preached values from CEO and company. Was told to take time back if working after hours for on call and not go to meetings we never contribute to from CEO, but then low level manager says the exact opposite and that we have to attend all meetings and does not care about taking time back. Tons of non related engineering work to On call for mobile engineers is a complete mess (get called as first line of defense at all hours in the night for misconfigured dashboards and for problems that are purely backend or upstream and do not affect the client)
