Joke of a Company

Pros

You get a paycheck for your slave labor.

Cons

This company's very existence is a con, in both the literal and figurative sense. Management is clueless, and senior management is an absolute joke. Brett thinks that he can use some simple hucksterism to cover up for the nearly universal bad reviews from both former employees and angry customers. This includes shill social media accounts, and shill employee accounts. It's bad comedy.

Reviews like this one are the reason Glassdoor has ceased being a valuable resource for job seekers. We don't have "shill" social media or "shill" employee accounts. Now, unbeknownst to senior management, under former marketing management those unethical tactics were being used. As soon as our CEO found out about it, those practices were discontinued. As noted, those practices were by a former marketing lead who has been gone from the company since April 2016, almost 1-1/2 years before the above review was posted. That marketing lead took customer service and marketing staff with him on his way out the door. The people who stayed with our company did not share his unethical view of life, and have committed to working ethically, even when we know many of our competitors do not do so. When we see multiple reviews referring to practices not attributable to our CEO, management, or current personnel, but rather referring to things that happened under the former marketing lead, it concerns us on multiple levels. First, we're painfully aware of digital warfare, of new weapons that companies use to go after competition. Second, although we have asked Glassdoor to remove these posts and pointed out these inconsistencies (and in the case of the above review, outright malicious slander against our CEO), they won't. Glassdoor is making itself liable for the damage caused to our company, and likely to others, when it allows people with an agenda to post untruths or skewed half-truths. I am surprised at their cavalier attitude towards posts like this.

Pros

John Evans and a few other managers are top notch people.

Cons

Most of what has been said in reviews is true. There has been rounds of layoffs every 6 months or so. They just had one in vegas and in louisville. The company seems like it is about broke. Probley because the quality that is coming out of its louisville plant is terrible. The CEO is a scam artist. He loves to get over on people and try to sell them products that dont have near the capability that he says they do. He also tries to sell products that are not ready for production and have virtually no support once sold. Every time someone posts a bad review, some idiot behind a keyboard seems to try and say....not true....not true. But I can honestly say, coming from a management position that got to see the inner workings, this is an employer you want to stay well away from. The absolute worst job I ever had.

***I am probably in the best position to address the concerns conveyed in this review. As Corporate Controller, I see the good, the bad, and the ugly and understand our financial strength better than anyone. I am quite optimistic about our short-, mid-, and long-term prospects. This company has more revenue streams than its competitors, is far more cutting edge than corporations ten times our size. When we present our production and design software at industry conferences, we usually find that the software our competitors plan on developing in the next 2 - 5 years, we have been using in-house for longer than that. ***Regarding layoffs: Again, I am in a great position to know what is going on here. Since you were employed in our Mechatronics department, you know that we have not laid anyone off in IT or Mechatronics for a very long time. You yourself were not laid off. You expected us to accept your working full-time at another job that was consuming your time and attention. You had left our company before you left. Not sure how dedicated an employee that makes you. ***I can also say with a great degree of certainty that you did not see any of the inner workings of the company. Your "management" position was not corporate level, nor were you involved in activities outside general press and equipment maintenance. You were not involved in planning or big picture discussions, only day to day work. When you came on board, we had great hopes for your potential with our company, as we recognized your abilities. We'd hoped you would make a significant contribution to our future successes. Regretfully, you chose another path. We wish you good luck on your journey and believe that one day you will understand what you left behind at PFS.
