Pros

Being part of the bigger Farm Credit System is amazing! Making an impact and having a purpose. Pay and benefits are great, but that is something you get when employed within the farm credit system. The people on the frontlines are amazing!

Cons

Management favoritism is huge, promotions are given to those who climb the ladder the wrong way, tearing their peers down along the way. Management speaks of being leaders but are far from leading rather dictating and punishing if you question anything. When you do speak up, there are consequences. Management does use a bullying approach and your words are often turned around and intentions questioned, keeping team members on the defense or quiet. HR favors the leaders rather than being an open minded third party, employees cannot trust going to HR as the conversation is not kept private. Ethics are violated all over this organization and the staff see it, but are fearful to escalate. The new CEO believes leaders can manage 20+ employees and remain heavily involved in project work. This is flat out ridiculous when trying to create an environment where they value work life balance. Leadership cannot effectively lead a team of this size and actually be present and care for their team members. The culture here is completely sales oriented. Operations and sales team members report up to the same leaders, creating a conflict of interest when decisions are made, including risk based ones. You either follow the direction of the sales person or risk consequences and your reputation. As a leader you are forced to choose to do right by sales or your direct reports, lose/ lose.
