Pros

Company car, STIP bonus, some autonomy

Cons

If I could put it this way, property claims adjusting is akin to a pepper mill. Claims and company processes themselves are the actual grinder, and you the adjuster are the peppercorn inside of that grinder. At the end of the day, you might as well be fine ground pepper as you are soup sandwich by that time anyway. Don't want to scare anybody, but it's definitely not for the faint of heart.

Pros

You could potentially make a significant amount of money, if you make enough sales.

Cons

1. The farmers company has some online training but most is done by the team you work with. If they do not have the time, skill, and/or desire to train you then you will be completely on your own. 2. Your team may force you to be entirely dependent on cold calls which will make getting sales difficult. You will also deal with excessively angry clients. 3. Each agency is essentially its own business. This means if you have an issue with. your team, including the Agency Owner, there is nowhere you can go for assistance. There is no HR department to go to and the District Manager (at least in Yuma) will want nothing to do with it.

Pros

Lots of potential bonuses, and the offer to own your own agency. Some solid people that are long time employees and friendly co-workers that make for a pleasant working environment.

Cons

Farmers is among the most expensive insurance there is right now, making it next to impossible to land new clients and build up a book of business. Their current pricing model is pushing administrators to find new agents will to buy established books from old agents getting out of the business. But those established agents are losing so many clients due to premium increases, it makes it hard to determine the actual value of an established portfolio. Farmers also has tight restrictions and appetites for commercial insurance, and limits insurance offerings to Farmers products only.
