Pros
Decent hours. Company car. Lap top computer. Phone.
Cons
If you are a claims rep, you will be micromanaged and audited to death. Managers talk a good game, but I found them to lack the technical expertise necessary to do the job. Senior management issues directives from the ivory tower, either too oblivious or uncaring about the impact these changes have upon the claims process. I also found excessive reduplication of work that added no value to the claim. It's like we were doing it just to do it and for no other reason. The whole Property Damage / Direct / Attorney Rep roles (Farmers calls them "segments") is a joke. Good luck to you PD only folks trying to get a job with another carrier. Most of them require prior experience handling BI / UM. I've worked for a number of different insurers; they were much better. When I quit this place was the happiest day of my life...
