Pros

The work there as an agent was really flexible and you were basically doing your own thing with training from your DM. Good money if you could get started off with a good client base. You can be as involved as you want to be.

Cons

Long hours that would sometimes not pay off. Need to have a good amount of money saved up to live off of if you start out with no clients in the very beginning.

Pros

Great people to work with in the lower ranks. Everyone really does want to do the right thing.

Cons

Farmers does not know what it wants to be. They are trying to do too much and be all things to too many different consumers, and in the end that strategy is leading them to failure. I'd suggest reading everything in a prior review from June (Edison, NJ), because that review hits the nail on the head. No need to repeat again. Farmers has had to bleed off excellent claim staff due to poor leadership decisions that created a organization bloated in all the wrong places.. It never should have happened. Organization is handicapped by a lack of technical knowledge in many leadership positions. Ethics, norms and values, etc. are throughly preached, but not practiced. From a performance evalualtion perspective, it often appears that the ends justify the means - especially around seemingly arbitrary assessments of employee "behaviors."
