      Fast is a company that is managed by individuals who only know how to code, which makes for a frustrating experience.

      Pros

      Fast gives a fair salary and also pays overtime which is deserved for all of the nights, weekends and holidays forced to work.

      Cons

      The management mostly consists of people who are great at writing software and are then promoted to a management role in which they had no previous experience or ability to lead. Fast also hires "consultants" to actually write and develop software. There is room for little growth within the company.

      Pros

      They give fancy perks (trip to Florida, Puerto Rico). They let you make mistakes, jump in, and own your work. And there are neat opportunities to work with DOR employees and your fellow Fasties.

      Cons

      There is an expection to work over time, the work isn't deeply meaningful since it's tax software. Many will complain that the coding it too easy and not challenging enough.

      Pros

      I really enjoyed the way that FAST treated their employees. The benefits are great and when it's not extremely busy, you can request time off. The average age of the employees is ~27, so there are a lot of people that have just graduated college and this is their first job. The Annual General Meeting is spectacular and so is the pay/benefits.

      Cons

      You don't get a lot of feedback about how you're doing. Reviews are annual. You can move at anytime with little notice, but you get compensated well for that. Not much recognition for individual accomplishments.
