Pros

My position with Fastenal as Outside Sales gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about business operations. From margins to sourcing to accounting to logistics, there is a lot to be gained if you're willing to put in the work. I've not worked for another employer in the same field so I am unable to testify if the pay is competitive within the industry.

Cons

As with any company, leadership can make or break your experience. I was fortunate to work directly with some great individuals, and unfortunately some not so great. I was put in a position where I was ultimately expected to deliver what Fastenal promised but ultimately was never able to do from day 1. I believe there was either a gross miscommunication to the true needs of the customer for the task at hand, or an intentional deception of our capabilities just to get our foot in the door.
