Pros

It's a paycheck. Company vehicle for sales team to use daily

Cons

Company is self insured. Owes no debt. Profits are way over margins and have been for years yet they continue to send their employees small boxes of candy as their yearly Christmas bonus. No bonuses are offered or given to those who bring over 100% of their sales quotas and who show up and perform everyday. They offer no team builders. Management does not know the word Leadership. Too bad so many others leave for companies who actually reward and appreciate those that are building this company to what it is. Corporate has no problem stepping on the backs of those that actually break them to serve them. Cheapest company with archaic mentality for this day and age.

Pros

Monday-Friday schedule. Might get commission. Depends on if the manager thinks you did “good”

Cons

Worked for west Sacramento ca branch, had to deal with sexual harassment by the manager. Management doesn’t care, nor does upper management. Multiple times requested training on any topic, was told “I’ve shown you enough, you should know by now” also worked in stockton ca branches. In one branch the DMs allowed a manager to keep his position after being caught having sexual relations with a part timer, everyone was told to keep quiet about it, in fear of what it would do to their job. Fremont rd branch is being ran by a child who is entitled, but is in the “in crowd” so DM doesn’t care what anyone has to say. Multiple days of not being able to have an actual lunch break. Was told I could not shut the store down. Was never compensated for my hours worked through my lunch break. But was clocked out for it by management. If you ask for days off for PTO use, it’s like you are ending the world and have put in your two week notice. Management talks poorly about employees and are nice to your face. No advancement UNLESS you are buddy buddy to the upper management and have the “look” to be in their group of liked people. Promises given, never followed through by all and any management. HR called me a liar for what was done at the West Sacramento branch. I was told to let them know if I was sexually harassed more, and when I did so, they told me to leave the company instead of finishing out my last two weeks. Was walked out of the store by DM as if I was a criminal. Was watched like a hawk as I left the parking lot. Instead of doing the right thing to the store manager who sexually harassed me, they made me off to be the one who was at fault. World for word “don’t take it so personal” by GM and HR. Fastenal is a joke. Do not waste your time. Turnover rates are very HIGH.

Pros

Usually hiring do to high turnover. Flexible schedule. Possibility for advancement.

Cons

Lack of store leadership and clique atmosphere can make for a challenging environment to move forward in. Favoritism for certain employees further promotes poor work ethic and bad behavior as well as needing to cover for those with poor attendance. This lack of structure only makes for lack of quality for other employees as well as the customer. Many employees are dismissive of protocol for process as well as inventory control, thus further compounding issues. Typical corporate minimalist staffing for the sake of profit further promotes lack of a quality experience for the employee as well as customer. Poor training and lack of communication.
