Pros

Learned a great deal about sales! From A through Z. Responsible for your Book of Business all the way through. Managing customer, product knowledge, entering sales into their POS system, unloading trucks in the AM, making deliveries, cutting PO’s with vendors for customers items that Fastenal doesn’t carry in wheelhouse. Including, Accounts Receiving, on past dues clients. So, one will learn a great deal!

Cons

All the above Pros are significantly, under compensated. False promises, low commissions for all Sales Reps (Inside or Outside). It’s a pyramid based, panzie scheme meant to only reward Management and Shareholders.

Pros

Great place to steal experience. Gets your foot in the door. Good benefits. Okay pay.

Cons

TOXIC work environment on the floor and management will not fix this. They do not care about you and you all are just a number. The pay is okay but they tell you to keep your pay a secret because some people are not getting a fair wage. Management does not help you. Nobody gets written up for things they do wrong so the work environment is declining. Dont ever think you have a fair chance for advancement! Oh and if you want a raise, just threaten to quit.

Pros

Easy to get hired because the turn over rate. Easy to move up the ladder once again because turnover rate.

Cons

General managers and below don’t really matter because there is always someone else wanting a job. This was overheard by a vendor said by a Regional Vice President at large conference. They will work you like a dog expect everything and give you nothing. Sales growth is major push however you must do this with brand new employees. Local district manager is a joke.
