Pros

not a lot of positives. As management states, " At least I have a job".

Cons

too many people in sales management with very little true sales background.

Pros

One of the few reasons to work at FedEx Office is the other team members you work with. Generally, they are excellent people, and the sense of teamwork within the "lower ranks" is exceptional.

Cons

There are many reasons NOT to work here: -The pay is generally low, VERY low if you consider all of the job responsibilities and exacting metrics that are used to track your performance. -The "bonus" structure is a joke - whenever people start making bonuses they change the program, continually moving the line making bonus nearly impossible to hit. They also structure the bonus program so that your bonus is dependent on someone else's performance - usually someone at a different store. -There is a huge lack of opportunity to advance, and advancement is usually based on being "in" with the HR representative and the DM, NOT on actually performance. While they used to have professional development classes, these were cut due to budget reasons. -Managers are expected to hit too many metrics, and there is a culture of fear instilled whereby the DM will address legitimate concerns with "Do you really think you will be working here that much longer with that kind of attitude?" Too many conversations with your boss will somehow incorporate "your accountability" into situations. -Praise and recognition are few and far between. You never be praised for getting anything "99% right", but you will always be blamed for getting something "1% wrong" -If you do want to work here, look at getting into the Sales department - it is archaically organized, lacks responsibilities, and can deal with any of the other departments autocratically *disrespectfully*.
