Pros

Friendly atmosphere and relatively low-stress work. People are willing to help whether they have the ability to do so or not.

Cons

Plant is very dirty, equipment is decades old and in constant need of repair, location is awful unless you enjoy the country and being around red necks. The corporate level employees of Federal-Mogul do not seem to care about anything but pleasing investors and making money. Plant is often ignored when it comes to engineering projects for improving the manufacturing process. Many staff-level employees are unqualified to do their jobs. At least half of the salary level work force in Cambridge could be eliminated without any effect on production.

Pros

Great brands and products within the auto industry. Employees have the ability to make decisions and work independently. In past years you were compensated for hard work put in. Still some geat people with great skill sets working there.

Cons

The company is going through tough times with the industry downturn. There has been many cost cutting actions put in place with cutting of employees being the largest. All departments have been cut to the point where it is tough to do anything correct in reference to customer shipping, billing etc. Unfortunately, the cost cutting is not being done at the top where there is the most waste. While head counts are being reduced, management is bragging about the ability to lower the workforce count but continue to spend money at the top with concern at short term goals to achieve their bonuses at the sacrifice of the company integrity. Stay away from this company until there has been a major upper management change.

Federal Mogul--The GOOD and the BAD

Pros

The work is not hard. The pay scale for the area is average. The laborers who actually work out on the floor are great to get along with, it really is like one big family.

Cons

Management seems to think they know all of the answers without asking for input from the employees on the floor doing the work. If they would ask for suggestions and really pay attention to what is said it could be a better place to work. You are on your feet all day on a concrete floor.
