      Pros

      Lots of employees that have employed there for decades. Great deal of knowledge for any one new coming in to learn from the senior employees.

      Cons

      Can be a cut throat arena. The senior employees are intimidated with anyone new coming in. The younger salary employees don't care who legs they cut off in order to get promoted. Very behind on LEAN and the understanding of it and how to really implement it. Management expects you to know everything when you come through the door

      A struggling plant in a failing industry staffed by incompetent people and ignored by corporate level employees.

      Pros

      Friendly atmosphere and relatively low-stress work. People are willing to help whether they have the ability to do so or not.

      Cons

      Plant is very dirty, equipment is decades old and in constant need of repair, location is awful unless you enjoy the country and being around red necks. The corporate level employees of Federal-Mogul do not seem to care about anything but pleasing investors and making money. Plant is often ignored when it comes to engineering projects for improving the manufacturing process. Many staff-level employees are unqualified to do their jobs. At least half of the salary level work force in Cambridge could be eliminated without any effect on production.
