Some great people to work with. Very caring and compassionate. The production team is some of the most innovative and creative people in the area. It's a shame they overlook decades of experience for fresh out of college or "new to manufaturing ideas. The pay was good, until the 10% pay reduction and inconsistent work hours (being sent home for lack of work). 24/7 Police presence.
Cons
Outsourced 30% of the South Bend business to Mexico and Korea. Management team out of touch with the day to day operations. Focused on paperwork and appearances, rather than things that directly impact the bottom line.(foundry issues, giving employees tools to make positive changes) They lie to their customers, owners, and shareholders about numbers. They intentionally misrepresent scrap and OAE targets to try to make the plant look better. The engineering staff is always turning over. Tough to have a consistent process when its new people all the time. The facility is in poor repair and now we are reducing maintenance staff. No advancement opportunities. Jobs that are posted already have candidates selected and it is just a formality to post it.
