Pros

- if you like to be treated like your 12 this call center is for you - if you like to work in a cheap office surrounded by homeless people this is the place for you - if you like to have to time out when you go to the bathroom this is the place for you Every second of your day is supervised. You will more than likely have a 10 hour shift where you will spend 9 hours and 15 minutes of it on the phone and if you don't you will get in trouble and receive "verbal warnings" that turn into "written warnings" . You receive two 15 minute and one 10 minute break (to go potty) You have to time out during your one hour non paid timed lunch break. Now factor in every person calling in extremely mad because there is an issue with the website and they had to literally wait 45 minutes to get to you so they take their anger out on you. It is not even sure if it's the Walmart of the financial industry. If you never want to make 6 figures in your life this is the place for you - well you might make LOW figures if you spend literally your entire life there sucking up to some of the strangest people you will ever encounter which in return will suck the life out of you.

Cons

This is 100% call center. Nothing in the financial industry to do with this job - You do get your series 7 and 63 so that you can do the most exciting thing with your job and take orders from customers. Don't screw up or you'll get a boo boo aka trade error. #verbal warning Its filled with people either making a mid life career change and they are so excited about a 401k and insurance (because they were going nowhere in their life) or you come straight out of college and if the person is halfway normal they are gone in less than two years. The managers are some of the biggest jokes I have ever experienced in my life. If you think women don't have an equal opportunity please go to Fidelity Salt Lake City. Women are promoted and have higher jobs for the sole fact they are women. My manager would call me homeslice, homeboy, homies, holmes, homes, gangsta, etc She was so out of touch with the team it was truly remarkable. Unfortunately though that seemed to be the common theme.

THEY DO NOT PROMOTE FROM WITHIN

Pros

Benefits are satisfactory, pay could be more inline with the industry, vacation policy is ok but has not been updated for over 20 years.

Cons

Massive attempt to eliminate older employees in the branch system, will not promote (especially if you are a woman) unless you are young and are a member of the so called "boys club". If you are a young male you will be supported and promoted by management. Managers will lie to HR to support this movement. Fidelity is on the wrong track, this has not always been true, however, seems to be the direction they are taking in 2015. It boggles ones mind that a company the size of Fidelity would not find the best talent in the industry, instead of promoting mediocre sales people to manage branches, most of whom do not know the first thing about how to treat employees. I was one of those employees that worked harder than anyone else and was still treated badly, and after all the years I devoted to this company you still pushed me out. Shame on you Fidelity.

Pros

My immediate team is great. I'm able to work on exciting work where I have an impact. My direct manager is awesome. I have had plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in my career. Once every 2 weeks, we get a Learning Day. It's my favorite benefit.

Cons

The upper management went off the rails during Covid. They used to treat you like an adult and trust you to get the job done. Now they have gone full force back into 20th century command-and-control mode and micromanagement with 21st century technology. It's increasingly dystopian. I could see it coming and warned about it in previous reviews, but upper management, especially HR, is going to destroy this company. It deeply hurts me to write this. I have spent almost 2 decades here. Fidelity used to be a "we"; now it is a "they". I can't recommend this as a place to work because I don't know what the next random misguided HR policy will be, and I don't want that on my conscience.
