Pros

Work Ethnic as well as the people. It is fun to be in an environment were most of your co-workers care about there own work and are willing to help you with things you may not understand. The banking industry is hard to cope especially now with the economic downturns that we are facing.

Cons

Just working for a bank right now is the downside. I dont think it has anything to do with Fifth Third directly, its more of the economic placing the blame on banks big and small regardless of there involvement with some of the shady deals done in wall street.

Pros

Good place to get started with your career, banking centers provide a good overview of the financial services field. Banking centers also provide you with experience in the customer services aspect of financial services.

Cons

Not a whole lot of training provided for the sales aspect of the financial services, most training is focused on performing financial transactions. Employee morale could be higher, especially in the individual banking centers. I notice a higher morale at the main office in Toledo, probably because the positions there are higher paying, higher profile positions.

Pros

The hours were from 9am to 5pm. I did have the flexibility to also leave during the day and meet with clients.

Cons

The communication was lacking. Noone knew what was going on and it was very difficult to get any information on procedures. They usually passed the buck. You would call one supervisor and they would tell you to call another to get your answer. I worked in the mortgage side of Fifth Third and it was very difficult to do my job. Just before I was hired they had changed their computer system and it was difficult to use the system and I was left on my own to figure it out. I would call for help and they were rarely able to help me.
