Pros

Nice location downtown. Nice profit sharing plan when there were profits. Nice stock purchase plan when their stock was worth buying.

Cons

Corporate politics. No real growth stragtegy. Lack of training for employees. Too old school. Not a whole lot of investment in educating their workforce. Bottom line oriented, will outsource if it will save a buck and not concerned with long term impacts. 5/3 Nickel and dimes employees until they become dissatisfied at the workplace and stop taking pride in their work.

Pros

Fifth Third served as an institution for great sales experience. I grew as a person and developed the ability to sell bank products and meet quotas.

Cons

I hated the cold calling and often poor compensation. Workload is also overwhelming at times. Fifth Third was fun but no real potential for my career path. I never really felt part of the team at my location either. I hope the best for every one of my co-workers, but I will not regret it when I leave the company. I don't think it is a bad place to work, but my pay was often less than acceptable.

Pros

If you want to work downtown, you could consider this place.

Cons

Each IT Lines of business runs as its own entity, and only the people who have worked there for 15+ years are provided with any real advancement opportunities. The annual review process is a joke. After you finalize your review with your manager, it is sent to HR, and if they decide they don't want to bump your salary, they actually reduce your review rating so they don't have to increase your salary. Most people at the management level are extremely self-servicing, and the culture literally drains you. Hustle, hustle, hustle..do what is best for the bank, not for you!
