Pros

Laid back banking environment. Within the Chicago affiliate there is room for growth in terms of regional support. Accept remote support to other affiliates allowing for internal growth without moving to different locations. Doesn't appear to be the same elsewhere.

Cons

There are inconsistencies throughout the workflow process which can make your role and the scope of your work less meaningful. Pay scale, compared to the industry, is lite and its crucial to get yours upfront as the company struggles to identify and subsequently reward the talented.

Pros

Fifth Third is a great company to work for. The salaries are quite competitive as compared to other banks, and the people that work there are quite friendly, helpful, and easy to get along with.

Cons

Unlike some of the greater names in banking, Fifth Third branches are not as productive. I worked in a new branch, and it was quite slow. It takes a lot more work to go out and find business, and although that is part of the job description as well, it is usually either underappreciated or otherwise not permitted frequently. The company needs to make it easier for us to meet our goals and in turn we will make the company profitable.

Pros

The company is still growing in Florida, and with the high turnover rate, if you put enough effort in you can get promoted quickly.

Cons

Fifth Third will promote you over and over again, but will not raise your pay or your benefits. You end up being in a position where a lot of your peers are paid much more than you because they came from outside the company and negotiated better salaries.
