      Pros

      A great learning experience. Able to connect with the community and meet all types of people. Also learn the value of bartering.

      Cons

      Management. So unprofessional. You just have to let the childish antics roll off your back to survive.

      Pros

      The variety of merchandise that comes in can be interesting/entertaining. Many customers (esp. regulars) can add a bit of spice to everyday mundane routine. Benefits were decent. There are some very good store managers around who are great pawnbrokers and truly lead by example.

      Cons

      Much of middle management is sub-par. Too many above the Store Manager level are NOT good pawnbrokers. Upper management is too reactionary and will implement new policies or "strategies" without the least bit of insight elicited from store level personnel. Often good people are vacated in an effort to do something "proactively," while others are retained (or promoted!) who are incompetent, exhibit poor work ethic and/or interpersonal skills, but who are part of the "high-five" club.

      Some great people. Able to move up in the company.

      Cons

      Some managers should not be managers. You can easily move up, however sometimes employees are not trained and/or fit to be managers. Pay scale is not competitive to market.
