Pros

Great benefits with a good work/life balance, and the compensation was aligned with the average salary for my role.

Cons

No structured training plan, very informal with no handbook or training manuals to refer to. Also lacked controls in place to check work of new hires. They had unrealistic goal expectations. We were required to QA a certain amount of tickets per day regardless of the complexity or whether we had non-productive time on a given day such as meetings, trainings, or other non-productive activities. You were still expected to complete the same amount of tickets every day even if you had several hours of non-production time. Very unrealistic expectation.

Pros

Although female-led, effective leadership is largely absent. Office culture is unfocused, with conversations often centered on non-work topics, which affects productivity. Client satisfaction is emphasized but rarely reflected in practice.

Cons

First Citizens is a highly bureaucratic and disorganized company. Leadership is mainly long-tenured employees who resist change, resulting in unclear direction, poor communication, and minimal accountability. Technology often fails to support daily operations. The firm struggles to hire and retain qualified professionals, which impacts client service. Many clients are in smaller markets, highlighting internal inefficiencies. Overall, the company rewards longevity over performance. Those seeking structure, clear leadership, and a results-driven environment may find this organization challenging.
