Set my own Calendar (take vacation & family events when I want to) Work w clients who value me Stay Connected to the military (w/out being deployed) Compensated fairly (I earn it - I keep it) If not me, then who will take care of our clients? If you are a leader & want it, you can get promoted - the best applicant gets the nod. i.e. more women are in leadership over the past 10 years & I'm here for it!

Cons

Fully Commissioned (know that going in) It can feel like "swimming w an iron weight on your feet" but "just keep swimming" The licensing process can be daunting - how bad do you want this?

Field Staff Employee: First Command is a great place to start if you are hoping to jump into a corporate role. I've been given plenty of opportunity to learn in a positive environment and I know that I am contributing to my team in a way that impacts both clients and the team in a positively.

Cons

Little growth for Field employees' who do not plan on being Financial Advisors. Very few ways to work up the ranks if you are not based at the Home Office.

For 32 Years as a financial advisor at First Command I have enjoyed being a part of dynamic ever evolving company. Our Founder, Carol Payne, envisioned helping others in the Military Community achieve financial success for themselves over a long period of time. Using time proven methods to coach our clients reach financial success it has been a rewarding career, and I have made a lot of friends along the way. It has given me a great sense of self-satisfaction to see my clients reach their financial success.

Cons

There are many ups and downs in this career and First Command has been there for me to help with those down times. There have been growing pains, but you will find growing pains in any company.
