Worst Working Experience I've Ever Had. Do not work at First Merchants.

Pros

The job fairly good benefits such as paid vacation, sick time, paid holidays off, excellent life insurance and decent 401k plans. First Merchants also offers health insurance though it is really expensive.

Cons

Management is absolutely horrible, there is very little communication supervisors to workers. The training was insufficient despite being 4 weeks long. The workload was unbearable and when asking questions management treats you as though you are wasting their time. Policy is liable to change at will to fit the situation so management is not to blame for circumstances. Multiple employees made complaints with the HR department about the working conditions and all were ignored.

CEO has no interaction with the branches, market leaders have no management skills, favoritism is a huge thing and pay is the worst here. Eventually they will become a big bank like chase
