Pros

They are very business focused, particularly on the bottom line. Pay is very competitive and in some field locations, particularly in Energy Delivery and Generation, provide some of the best jobs in the area.

Cons

On the corporate support end, decisions are often short-sighted, eliminating experienced personnel vs. newer hires. Some areas of the company have no job security.

Pros

Pay is generally very good and bonuses (when the company does well). There are a lot of dedicated employees willing to do what it takes to get work done. There is a strong respect for safety inbedded in the culture. Good human resource support to employees, but they are limited in what they can do to make changes.

Cons

Employees are overworked, stressed out with no light at the end of the tunnel. Benefit offerings have eroded to the point that we are below market. It is hard to attract good talent to fill jobs, because prospects have heard about the lack of work/life balance and unreasonable expectations of their employees. Sr. Management lacks the ability to articulate strategy to the employees and chose to hide instead of actively communicating and soliciting feedback. Ethics and morals are non-existent for some of the most senior leaders and the company lawyers finds creative ways to cover up their indiscretions. The severe lack of accountability for leadership is nauseating and creates engagement issues for all employees. There is way too much lip service paid to employees about how management is going to make things better, get additional resources, help to reduce work & hours, but all talk and no action! Management takes a class called "How to blow smoke up your employee's butts" once they accept their job offer.

Pros

Training is provided, free meals occasionally provided, friendly staff to be working along side. Many supervisors are supportive.

Cons

Low pay to start as a contractor. Potential raise once hired in but doing so could take up to 12 months. The overtime hours are demanding as contractors, also. No PTO, vacations for benefits until once hired in.
