Fortune 500, maybe. Terrible work environment, yes!

Pros

Good for people who don't want to excel/ those who want to show up at 7:30 and leave by 4:00 on the dot. Decent compensation.

Cons

Total disregard for employees wanting to expand/ explore other career opportunities. Incompentent management at all level. Does not listen to employees. Yearly reviews are totally subjective. Not willing to try new methods, even if they could result in huge savings for the company. FE is a typical public utility. Employees do not and are not encouraged to put in any additional work(parking lot is dead within 5 minutes of closing). Very slow and extremely resistant to change.

Pros

It has a competitive pay scale and good benefits. No overseas travel is required. Many good people work for this company.

Cons

It is a very political environment with obvious favoritism. Doing a good job does not necessarily equate to a raise or promotion.

People were very friendly and helpful Hourly wage was competitive compared to other companies Safety was very important in the plant environment

Cons

The fossil generation side is not hiring much due to the increased restrictions the government is placing on environmental regulations
