Pros

You have the opportunity to work with some very intelligent, yet friendly people. Compensation is decent for the area and benefits aren't horrendous. Work can be complex and interesting.

Cons

Company is struggling to pay off debts, let alone turn an appreciable profit due to an ill-advised reliance on coal generation. This is leading to an increasingly understaffed workforce in all groups. Training is sub-par and work can be monotonous due to administrative burdens. Senior management struggles to adapt to changing market conditions.

Pros

Good benefits and decent pay. Some areas of expertise (salary) have an easier path for promotion than others.

Cons

Coal powered energy taking a beating from the Federal Government.
