Pros

This company offers a relatively competitive compensation/benefits package compared to others in NE Ohio.

Cons

Management is a group of good ol' boys that never changes. The same people get shifted from one role to another but none of them are held accountable even though the retail portion of the company is failing. Re-orgs and layoffs are the norm roughly every 6 months to a year.

Pros

The only pros I see is the fact the the union is semi strong and keeps getting the union employees raises. They seem to treat us right also because of the union.

Cons

Upper management needs to open their eyes and actually get off their high horses and get back to cherishing its employees instead of looking at us like a number. First Energy has gotten to big for their britches.

A heaping pile of unrecognized ability and unrealized potential.

Pros

They have a pension plan, which many companies no longer have. Many jobs there have a lot of stability built in....electricity is not going away any time soon

Cons

An almost utter disregard by the parent company to keeping the power grid functional in New Jersey. Low staff manning will mean a lot of overtime...some people may like this. A lot of frustration due to knowing you could treat your customers better, but not being allowed to do so due to lack of manpower, or budget restraints. Be prepared for all credit to roll uphill You will not be promoted due to your ability, only due to your toeing the company line...as crooked as it may be If you have strong ethics and morals, you may want to re-consider
