Pros

Great mission that remains the focus of day-to-day work. The company is filled with intelligent, kind-hearted individuals who provide a warm welcome to all. You'll be given opportunity and autonomy. Great place to learn, grow and see best practices in action

Cons

The company is growing rapidly, thus its evolving to some degree. An upcoming challenge is if they can maintain their great culture through the midst of this growth

Pros

I joined Flatiron about two years ago after leaving a pretty awesome consumer-facing company. Flatiron has continued to exceeded my expectations of what an incredible workplace can be. I joined as a level two product designer and quickly leveled up my user research and problem-solving skills with the support of my manager and fellow designers leading to the role I'm in now. During my time here, I have worked on extremely challenging problems to ship solutions that actually improve lives and have the freedom to tackle areas outside of my defined role that I think are important, such as improving our design systems team. One of the coolest parts of my role is partnering with clinical experts, such as pharmacists, physician assistants, and MDs, on a daily basis to craft truly great experiences. Equally as cool is traveling to practices to talk to users, watch them use our software, and understand their needs more deeply. I've learned so much about oncology and healthcare, something I see as a perk. There's a lot I could say in this review, like the fact that I feel my managers truly care about me and my career, or the fact that I'm proud every day of the work we are doing, but the simplest way to explain how I feel about Flatiron is that I'm almost always stoked for work on Monday and have no desire to leave.

Cons

I'd say the biggest con of Flatiron is the speed at which product teams move. I think we're still a little slow, sometimes for good reasons (patient safety considerations), but other times because of engineer limitations, poor planning, communication, or risk aversion. This slower pace means features don't get as much love as they could because the first iteration takes so long to ship.
