For the first time in my life, I love my job.

Pros

- The people making the mission happen are the best I've ever gotten to work with: I fully expect never to find better co-workers in any future job that I have. - The projects and output actually move the needle in terms of making a difference in the field, and progress can actually be measured. - There is no room for egos or pretentious people here: It's refreshing to work in a place in oncology where *everyone* is expected to receive critical/constructive feedback and always be working to improve themselves and their work.

Cons

- The quick pace can be hard to adjust to for some, so I only recommend this job to people who are willing to experience personal growth as well as professional. - You must be great at personal time management, period. It's so easy to get sucked into the exciting projects, and forget that you too have a life outside of this organization.

Pros

Working at Flatiron has exposed me to some of the greatest people. It's an extremely mission driven company, which means everyone is dedicated and invested in watching Flatiron succeed.

Cons

Flatiron can be very transparent, but then other matters can be shrouded in secrecy. I'd also love to see more investment in career growth for more junior employees other than management roles. The Engineering organization has figured this out and the rest of the org should piggy back on their success.

Ethics are questionable

Pros

Flexibility, platform for learning. Self paced environment. Weekly newsletter to inform of upcoming conventions and pictures the office. Flexibility would be the first word when describing the position.

Cons

As a current virtual long time seasoned Abstractor I am noticing a sense of not knowing what to expect. Abstractors do discuss work related topics on our own time. I would suggest reviewing the past 60 days of employees terminated. I have read emails of leadership blaming another department for the decisions being made and vice versa for several firings. This makes my intentions of remaining with Flatiron less appealing. The big picture is getting lost in quick production opposed to strong workers.
