Run As Fast As You Can

Pros

Great clients, a great entry into agency life, will change you for the better and teach you exactly what you want in a job.

Cons

Say goodbye to work-life balance. The people at this company play mind games and say and do things to make junior staff members feel as though every issue that rises is their fault. This place is toxic. Junior staff takes all the blame for everything to avoid conflict, knowing that they will be passed over for opportunities if they don't suck it up and deal. Upper Management and Senior Staff make you feel small and replaceable. People will wear you down and make you miserable. There was a designated cry room in the office. Emails non stop late at night, Friday's and weekends. Promotions are heald over your head if you aren't working hard enough. Constant belittling from senior members of the team. The office environment feels like high school, where there are literal cliques of mean girls that gang up a bully junior staff. I've gotten bullied for clothes that I wear and things that eat for lunch ("Yes, I only had time to run to get coffee again! Thanks for pointing out that this job is mentally and physically destroying me!") This place is a nightmare, ONLY work here if you really need agency experience, keep your head down and get out as fast as you possibly can.

The Chosen Ones

Pros

Depending on your team, there are some wonderful people that you get to work with everyday (along with a few bad apples). Big clients, great vacation/sick days, company still holds a lot of clout in the industry. Social gatherings and cultural elements are there and have gotten less frequent.

Cons

As previously mentioned in a few of the reviews, if you're not one of the "chosen few" forget it. The same handful of people are in brainstorms and anything that has to do with big picture/strategy. Because of this, they are constantly the ones that are on top of mind for promotions and raises. Side note: if you're a bully, you'll get praised. Speaking of raises and promotions, this only happens once a year. If you have a weak leader/don't have a leader to fight for you, good luck moving up the ladder. You are truly a number at this agency. The monthly "inspirational emails" from the CEO are extremely disconnected from reality and further prove that there is no awareness that the company is made of PEOPLE and not just entering time and billing clients. Some groups can be extremely cliquey and have mean girl tendencies. Certain clients hold too much power and the agency falls in line.

The worst experience

Pros

The younger staff is fantastic and eager to learn.

Cons

The senior management team is the worst I have ever experienced. They repeatedly stated that they are smarter than any of their clients and would gossip about and make fun of every other person in the office, including the junior staff. Colleagues were often pitted against each other. I don't mind working long hours, but working in an environment where the senior management team acts like "mean girls" is just not healthy. Not only would I not recommend them to a friend looking for a job, I wouldn't hire them as my agency or recommend them to my friends looking for an agency. There are MUCH better agencies out there.
