Pros

Natural job demands prompts professional growth. Interesting client work. Smart, hyper competitive colleagues keep you on your toes. Forces one to become better.

Cons

There is a happy tone on the surface but right underneath that exists a sort of Lord of the Flies mentality in which the thoughtful, quiet types are shoved aside in favor of the more overtly aggressive, bare fisted types. This monkey-like atmosphere tends to punish those who are not politcally savvy, though they make 'straight As' when given most jobs (often bringing in loads of revenue), while propelling mediocre, squeaky wheel, "fun" types. Towards the end of my time, nearly 10 years, I could not believe the hazy ethics, mental cruelty and ovearching lack of vision that surfaced in the D.C. office. It saddened me more than anything and it hurt my life in serious ways. I strongly encourage you to think twice before working in FH's Washington, D.C. office.

Pros

There is a great client list and interesting projects being conducted. Employees are talented, dedicated and supportive. The vending machines are 25 cents for everything i.e. sodas, m&m's, etc.

Cons

When I was hired for this internship I was told the overwhelming majority of my time would be spent on a single client. That has been true, but I wish I had the opportunity to work on other accounts as well.

Pros

They have a lot of internal educational programs that help you learn various skills from outside your dept. An internship here will also provide you with basic PR skills that you can apply to future jobs.

Cons

You will get little to no feedback. Upper level management hardly know you exist and don't care that you do. Don't expect a single thank you for your work.
