Pros
Natural job demands prompts professional growth. Interesting client work. Smart, hyper competitive colleagues keep you on your toes. Forces one to become better.
Cons
There is a happy tone on the surface but right underneath that exists a sort of Lord of the Flies mentality in which the thoughtful, quiet types are shoved aside in favor of the more overtly aggressive, bare fisted types. This monkey-like atmosphere tends to punish those who are not politcally savvy, though they make 'straight As' when given most jobs (often bringing in loads of revenue), while propelling mediocre, squeaky wheel, "fun" types. Towards the end of my time, nearly 10 years, I could not believe the hazy ethics, mental cruelty and ovearching lack of vision that surfaced in the D.C. office. It saddened me more than anything and it hurt my life in serious ways. I strongly encourage you to think twice before working in FH's Washington, D.C. office.
