Pros

You get a lot of experience from doing the work of 5 employees. You can easily bond with your coworkers over how unhappy you all are working here. Once a year on employee appreciation day, you’ll get a single stale cupcake from Walmart.

Cons

Other departments will throw you under the bus and will never listen to you, then they’ll ask you why things went wrong. Management is a disaster. Every task is top priority and needs to be done simultaneously. It will be your fault when you can’t get 5 tasks done at a time. You’ll be promised a raise, but 2 months later they will go back on their word while corporate boasts record profits.

Pros

Very collaborative environment. Great, hard working, dedicated employees. Fast-paced environment with constant change due to the number of customers and products from a variety of business sectors. Opportunity to learn a lot! Opportunities to work cross-functionally with employees from Austin, US and global. Communication is open and fairly transparent. There is support from senior leadership at the site. Additionally, CEO (Revathi Advaithi) in San Jose, CA is very smart, progressive and inclusive.

Cons

Many salaried positions work very long hours in order to meet ramp, production and shipping goals. Workload can be very stressful due to limited resources. Burn out is possible, so self care and strong boundaries are important. Flex-developed software systems are not always highly functioning or well supported, which slows down work or creates rework. It can be frustrating. Because of the fast pace and limited resources, the organization is often reactive instead of proactive. This may be improving now. Salaried employees took a significant pay cut for 6 months during the pandemic, while continuing to work. (Although it is better than a layoff, it was a tough pill to swallow.) Site senior leadership is a little "cliquish".

Pros

Competitive base compensation Great collaborative colleagues. Always aiming to do the right thing Good Managers up to business VP

Cons

Executive team do no listen to the needs of the employees There is no sincerity from CEO when thanking employees for accomplishments. it's always "thank you, now I need you to do more" Flex is not a customer focused company. It's all about the pennies
