Pros

- A lot of ICs are genuinely kind and bright. - Modern SaaS tooling.

Cons

Management at Flexport is borderline abusive. Calls during late hours and PTO over non urgent issues. Berating team members during calls. Bold face lies about promotions. Just an overall lack of empathy in regards to work life balance. Oh and pay is way-way below market. Please look elsewhere.

Pros

Flexport used to have a high performance culture so there are still a lot of good people left. Good work life balance, parental leave,

Cons

The performance culture has changed so much. The leadership team has been a revolving door for some time now. The People people are now a joke. They can’t run a review cycle and get people properly paid if their life depended on it despite being a big team. CEO can’t take feedback

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and we’re sorry that you had a negative experience with our performance feedback cycle. People development is a top priority for us (it’s built into our company-wide OKRs) and having predictable performance feedback processes is a big part of that. As the leader of the People team, I take a review like this very seriously. If you experienced any issues with our most recent performance feedback cycle, especially related to compensation, please let your People Business Partner know immediately -- they can work with you to get it resolved ASAP. We are investing time and resources for our upcoming performance feedback cycle that should address your concerns regarding communications, our forms (a bit lighter), and the compensation process. With rapid growth, there is a lot of evolving, and we are committed to making our performance cycle much more robust. Expect to hear from our team in November on these updates. In the past few months, we have added several senior leaders to help strengthen our performance culture from end to end -- in recruiting, tech recruiting, organizational learning & development, people operations, and (coming soon) a very seasoned compensation leader. The impact of these leaders is just beginning to be felt, now that they are getting fully up to speed and we’re able to see and measure the impact of the initiatives they’ve launched.

Thanks for your feedback- we really appreciate it. We have been working hard to implement a twice a year performance feedback cycle and objective promotion process. We have received high engagement from employees on the process and are continuing to listen to feedback and make it even better. Paige- Chief People Officer
