Pros

- Free food - Competitive pay and benefits - Company has an ambitious and worthy mission There is opportunity to learn and work on interesting projects - if you fall in line / are preferred by the people in charge

Cons

- Extreme cases of nepotism. Some finance leaders prefer to hire people that are more or less versions of themselves - white, male, ex-Amazon and plays golf. Easy enough to trace recent hires and find them having at least 3 out of 4 of these characteristics. - Despicable manner in which former employees are spoken about at team meetings. Essentially saying "good riddance" to anyone who departs and use their vacancy to hire more ex-Amazon people. - So much turnover - with over 60% people leaving Flexport within one year of joining. A statistic that was actually announced at an All-Hands, but nothing done to address the "why". - Inclusion is a joke. Not a concept grasped nor cared about in teams. This has been affecting morale and productivity. - Projects are not being committed to. Things start but don't go anywhere as upper management changes their mind.

Pros

- Unlimted PTO - Great BENEFITS - Fancy office

Cons

- Your journey is very dependent on your manager and their style of management. *Bad manager = you will stay in your role and like it* - Pay is abysmal, the company loves to talk about profits and amazing changes but all they do is outsource jobs and give you tacky gifts and laughable inflation combating raises. - titles are more important than anything you could actually do at work. -Nepotism, its not a good look when an employee is being groomed to be the next MC -Expensive parking

Pros

You definitely learn a lot in the job and dip your feet in the industry Good employee benefits (health coverage all paid for, unlimited PTO, free lunches everyday if you go to the office) Decent WFH equipment options Amazing people to work with

Cons

You'll end up doing a lot of work that isn't your responsibility with below-average pay. There is no difference between a Specialist and an Associate, yet Associates get paid more to work even if you're handling more projects. Your hard work is also barely acknowledged in the department depending on what team you're on, and there is definite favoritism towards males with projects that are assigned. You'll like it here for a couple months but after burning yourself out from doing work seniors should be doing with no acknowledgement and with pay that's a little above minimum wage, you'll probably start looking elsewhere.
