Cons
A company that hasn’t progressed to the 21st century in several arenas. Culturally and systematically stuck in 1980s-90s manufacturing. Management lives by letter of the law rather than understanding leadership and empowerment. Current management touts lean and six sigma but doesn’t have the competency or IQ to actually implement it. Poor decisions or performance are shrouded with deflection, blame, and hostility. Little trust and camaraderie between departments creates assuming attitudes, cynical behavior, and defensive postures. Supervisors are expected to work 50 hr weeks and aren’t adequately empowered. Efficiency is preached but numbers are easily manipulated with zero accountability. At the time there was good leadership at VP levels in Hr, Operations, and Materials but impact is suffocated through the rankings with an environment of politics, deception, and egos.
