Pros

Best Aspects Flexible work schedule Friendly and accommodating management/department heads Management always open/willing to implement new ideas An interesting job with many unique paths of knowledge that can be chosen by the employee to specialize in The company is steadily growing, creating more opportunities for employees Fair Aspects Starting pay is fair at best, but there's very quickly room to increase once proven you're an asset Open work environment, dual monitors (or more) at all workstations Foodtec's customers seem to enjoy the product and are easy to work with overall In the past year, I have seen vast improvements in training documents, communication between departments, and a more clearly defined structure in my department.

Cons

Very little opportunity for overtime Regularly understaffed Training can be confusing and poorly structured

Pros

Friendly and helpful co-workers, always hardworking and willing to help a lending hand. The professional services manager was very helpful and professional, great at checking in and handing difficult situations. HR Manager (CEO's wife) was extremely sweet and caring, acted as the office mom.

Cons

The issue at Foodtec stems from the CEO. He creates an extremely hostile work environment, at the end of the day he would target someone and curse them out, belittle them, make them feel stupid and incompetent in front of coworkers, often causing tears or employees walking out. Foul and offensive language. The work load and assignment deadlines were beyond unrealistic for any individual employee or department. Constantly falling behind, neglecting customers and passing around complaint calls until customers were enraged. I was often yelled at by dissatisfied customers over the phone and rightfully so, issues or requests would be reported and failed to gain attention for weeks at times. Terrible work/life balance No company culture, outings or team building, clock in, work, clock out. All employees completely overworked, over stressed and underpaid. Consistently dissatisfied, angry and confused customers, which is a shame as most employees truly do their best to excel and meet as many customer needs as possible. Understaffed. No positive reinforcement whatsoever. Scare tactics and yelling Everything is tracked, if you go on a bathroom break, "time idle" shows on your computer and is visible to your manager. Forget lunch breaks and vacation, you gain a vacation day for every month already worked. Bare minimum paid holidays, yet the office in Greece gets days off for all of their holidays. No upward mobility, you will be promised the world in your interview, you are there to fill a space for as long as you can tolerate it. The list goes on

Thanks a lot for taking the time to review us and I am sorry to hear that your experience was not as expected. I have taken note of your suggestions and, as you probably know, my top consideration is to maintain a fair and positive working environment. On that note, I wish I had known your concerns earlier and not through Glassdoor, but I haven't been made aware of any specific incident like the one you have noted above in the last months. For what it is worth, I would encourage you to approach HR earlier with your concerns in the future and not after you have left a company without notice.Thank you for your kind words regarding Susan Bounas. She is not the HR manager since the last 8 months, but I will let her know of your appreciation.Regarding office holidays: We offer 8 days in the US (6 office holidays and 2 personal days) and 9 office holidays in Greece, however we are working on making these equal. We wish you the best in your future career progression. If you have any other input regarding the company, please feel free to send it on to hr@foodtecsolutions.com.
