Incredibly Efficient, But...

Pros

Extremely efficient at what they do; I have never seen a shipping operation work as smoothly as they do at FoodTec. They effort that the company puts into making sure that customers are taken care of is second to none.

Cons

The physical plant is difficult to manage. It's an outdated, hot, uncomfortable space. The corporate culture is outdated, as well. The dress code, benefits package, office furniture, and computer systems are all in need of a refresh. I also don't think I ever heard anyone in upper management tell anyone that they had done a good job at anything, ever. Not once.

Everyone is very easy to communicate with and answer questions, from all parts of the company, which helps to gather a greater understanding of the ins & outs of day to day business. The product itself is very strong, leading the market and it was interesting to work on something that is considered an industry leader.

I have been in the company for less than a year but so far I have seen a work environment which offers lots of opportunities to get your hands dirty and start working. It is a small/medium sized company which is getting bigger. If you are like me and you like to fix things, you will enjoy this and you will find lots of opportunities to make impact. -If you are someone who is inspired to learn, wants to get better and likes to improve himself and the business, this is a place where you can do it. -I have been given the freedom to improve processes and I enjoy seeing my work influence the way we do things. -It is a data driven company who puts their customer first. The management team sincerely cares about this, so if you want to have influence you should remember it too.

- Fast work environment - It isn't very structured, which might not be to everyone's liking
