Pros

-people are overall very nice -a good place to start if you have no experience or expectations -a lot of flexibility

Cons

This is not a job I would recommend to any experienced sales professional that has other options. The pay is really bad, commission is confusing and the nature of the product makes the sales process more consumer. It is not a compelling sales environment for a B2B sales professional. This is something that I haven’t seen addressed but is very important to understand if you are considering the sales team. Management tries to train based on traditional B2B sales cycles which the price point simply does not support, in turn reps have incredibly high quotas with very small deal sizes. If you are starting out and need anything to just get under your belt that is fine but if you have any alternative tech companies I would stay away.

Wow - we take this very seriously. Thank you for sharing, since no one should ever have this experience at Formlabs. Any sort of racist or homophobic behavior is completely unacceptable. If you haven't already talked to someone on the HR team, we're here - we will and do take your concerns seriously. I hope that even if you've left the organization, we can connect and make sure your concerns are addressed.-- Caitlin, People Ops

Pros

The benefits are great (medical, dental, vacation time), the office has a lot of fun amenities like an arcade machine, dining area, common space upstairs, rock wall, you get unlimited 3d prints, it has perks like company paid vacations, beer in the fridge, you can bring your dog to work, free catered lunches several times a week, cool co-workers, and the company has a potentially bright future.

Cons

The lack of structure tends to inhibit progress more often than spur it (yes despite what people say, I did not see a single instance where a lack of a clear path and communication didn't delay multiple parts in a project), a few members of the team tend to be condescending when speaking (not sure if this is intentional or not), the pay maintains to be about 10-20% less than other places, while work hours tend to be towards the 60 hour range. There is also no raises, employee enrichment, or opportunity for advancement. The CEO does not acknowledge you when you say good morning, or say thanks when you hold the door for him. I feel like that disposition resonates with many of the people there as well.
