All employees are expected to maintain deep, perfect, proactive expertise & mastery of [their field, their focus, etc]... or else they're seen as underperforming and at risk of getting fired or managed out. Incredibly high stress, deadlines that shift with minimal notice & zero flexibility. The culture is: Be the expert, or get out of the way so a different expert can do the work
