Great learning experience, Treatment of employees is to be desired

Pros

3 month orientation period, offers an in-service where you have a meet and greet with the CEOs, and offers in house certifications such as BLS and ACLS

Cons

Enforces being "on-assist" which is being on-call on your off days and do not get paid for it and are written up if you don't come in, 7:1 Nurse to patient ratio, constantly short staffed. tuition reimbursement program is on "hiatus" and has been since my employment. Insurance offered is a joke compared to other companies

Quality level 2 trauma facility. Good physician interactions.

Cons

Poor pay and benefits. Anything wrong in the system is attributed to nursing staff. Consistently reminded you ate easy to replace.

Pros

Facility is top notch. Still looks good on a resume. Easy to find open positions. Most physicians are pretty great.

Cons

They want Top Ten Percent performance while having the lowest pay in the entire country. (Seriously, look it up.) Benefits were just about worth it a few years ago, but they keep raising the cost and chipping away at benefits, and now they're not so great. But, that means there are always openings, since everyone leaves for greener pastures before long. Use it as a resume builder if you're a new grad, but look elsewhere for the long term.
