Pros
Mission: many companies (especially in Silicon Valley) talk about changing the world with no chance of doing so. Forward is different — we’re tackling one of the most broken industries (healthcare) with the chance, if we deliver on the mission, of truly changing people’s lives for the better. It's pretty awesome.
Transparency: management is extremely open and honest with the employees. They clearly explain the vision and goals, celebrate successes, and even perform “5 Whys” analyses when things go wrong so we can all learn and do better next time. Everyone is along for the ride — this place is a great learning ground for people at all points in their career.
Ideas & Execution Win: it doesn’t matter how much experience you have or how many Ivy League degrees hang on your wall — every person is encouraged to come forward with their ideas. The best ideas get the resources and those that can set a plan and execute them well are the ones that do well here.
Team Over Self - Whenever an employee sees an opportunity to support another employee they immediately offer their help. They never have an angle, they just legitimately want to help others out with the goal of making the company stronger. I’ve worked at many companies before and I’ve NEVER seen a culture like this.
Intelligence: It can be intimidating at times, but, wow, people are smart here! Humbling, but awesome.
Cons
Challenge: fixing the healthcare/primary care doctor system is a daunting challenge and not for the faint of heart. The people who succeed at Forward are not deterred by what's hard or seems insurmountable, but work relentlessly on challenging problems where many others have failed before them at other companies. This place isn't for everyone.
