Pros

They have a great office location.

Cons

You are thrown under the bus without any training and instructions. When you ask for assistance from co-workers and attorneys, you are give mixed answers which leaves you more confused. If you are not an attorney, you are nobody. Older staff members will find ways to blame the new employee for everything. The higher management are all about billable hours and don't care much about how the work is being done. You are given no feedback on how you should improve your performance.

This firm is disloyal to its employees at every level.

Pros

This firm fills some temporary positions without even interviewing for the position. If you come in this way, you have the opportunity to get some decent experience under your belt without having to do much for it.

Cons

The flip side of the pro I mentioned is the reason why they can afford to operate that way. Fragomen has taken advantage of our poor economy by treating its individual workers like they are expendable. They can afford to hire you without interviewing you because they know if you don't work out, they can fire you immediately and fill your position by the next morning. Moreover, They treat even their best employees like cogs by expecting them to work heinous hours and giving very minimal raises. I've heard this place described as a "legal professional sweat shop" and after working there a while, I can definitely see why. To top it off, when they finally do lay you off or dismiss you, you are given fifteen minutes notice before they expect you to be out the door. When my temporary assignment ended, I was told with so little time to spare that I forgot many personal items I had brought to work with me and did not even get to say goodbye to my colleagues. The HR representative stood over me like a store owner observing a shoplifter until I left. Never once in the months that I worked there had I given anyone a reason to suspect those kind of precautions were necessary, but I suppose that when you treat people like garbage, it is wise to expect garbage in return.
