To top it off, when they finally do lay you off or dismiss you, you are given fifteen minutes notice before they expect you to be out the door. When my temporary assignment ended, I was told with so little time to spare that I forgot many personal items I had brought to work with me and did not even get to say goodbye to my colleagues. The HR representative stood over me like a store owner observing a shoplifter until I left. Never once in the months that I worked there had I given anyone a reason to suspect those kind of precautions were necessary, but I suppose that when you treat people like garbage, it is wise to expect garbage in return.
