My Experience was not Unique

Pros

Used to be a supportive, team oriented environment. Fair benefits (paid time off, 401k, medical). Casual dress is OK, when not meeting with clients.

Cons

Clients (or should I say the foreign nationals) complain that they never can speak with an attorney and all work is done by legal assistants. Employees can expect to be hired into a position and never experience any growth. The company culture does not support growing the employee. In general employees are not support by their bosses. Company tends to "manage out" long-term employees, in favor of hiring lower paid, inexperienced workers.

Pros

US global company, famous brand, number 1 in the immigration industry, work life balance is good.

Cons

Traditional and poor management, no appreciation to their employees, career opportunities are very low, especially for those not having a law degree, no training to improve the employees' skills or to upgrade, just continue asking the employees to do the same things

Pros

-Opportunities for growth and development -Plentiful training -Very structured team organization -Efficient allocation of cases and duties

Cons

-EXTREMELY understaffed to the point that employees are performing double the workload. Very poor work-life balance -Company clearly looks out for its own interests, making it difficult to form any loyalty or attachment to one's position -Lack of internal leadership, as it often feels like the day is spent resolving one emergency after another without any clear insight into future goals or ways to prevent such emergencies -Clients are extremely demanding. This is compounded by the fact that FDBL is unable to deliver on promised timelines due to staffing shortages. This leads to increased tensions between FDBL and the companies, resulting in rushed cases, stress (= lower employee morale), and excessive overtime
