Pros

- FrontRange has a pretty good HR package. 401k matching, gym membership options, etc. - Great products. I mean what company has strong SaaS, on premise, and hybrid offerings like FRS? Nobody, that's who - Great people to work with. Let's be honest, the people at FRS are really what makes it shine. - Interesting problems to solve. Every customer has cool problems to solve. ITIL, deployment, or discovery implementations always present difficult and cool problems.

Cons

- Leadership is a little too hands off - Work/Life balance feels like a startup. - Pay rates are a little below Bay Area average - Confusing direction - Complete focus on billable hours and ignoring employee growth - Sales can sell a fictional product - Career growth is limited

Pros

Heat Enterprise is a competitive product and equal to other tier one offerings. The ability to have software on premise or in-house is flexible

Cons

The image however is not good in the marketplace and the price model is unworkable for large sites. This forces the company to discount heavily and that process is cumbersome. The integration of purchased modules from Germany and UK has been poorly executed and is full of restrictions. The company has significantly failed to reach it's sales targets for several years, is very poor in servicing its large user base. The sales model of hire and burn leads to a destabilised work force and heavy staff cut backs in March 2013 has flattened staff morale.

Still in transition but getting better

Pros

FrontRange is on the upswing. New senior leadership is making some good decisions and it finally feels like we have some momentum. Word is that the new SaaS ITSM product stacks up well against the competition. Marketing has been working hard and the results are starting to show. Still a lot of good & smart people at this company; people who are fun to work with.

Cons

Sales growth isn't materializing as fast as expected, which is making things tough. So much attention is going towards sales & marketing right now that it's easy for people in other groups to feel unappreciated.
