No work-life balance

Pros

The only pros to working here are the pay and the company's commitment to safety.

Cons

Basically everything else. Poorly managed, recently eliminated over 100 jobs, so now of course they expect the same or more with fewer personnel. This company cannot accomplish anything without heavy use of overtime, and work-life balance is not even on the radar. Do not choose to work here unless you are prepared to accept sacrifices in other areas of your life (time with family, non-work related interests, etc.). Additionally, loyalty to this company is neither appreciated nor rewarded.

Pros

The hourly employees are amazing, and most are willing to go above and beyond for the company and their supervisor. Most supervisors are really good people who are interested in helping the company succeed.

Cons

If you are an "outsider" (meaning you did not "grow up" at Frymaster), it will be hard to go far. Most of management has worked there their entire lives and don't want to hear that there are better ways to do things. It is also a boys' club, and women are not treated fairly, promoted regularly, or valued. Lastly, HR does not apply policies fairly or consistently. If an employee who is a discipline problem is a "manager's pet," they will use every excuse in the book to keep them, but any good employee who breaks the rules once or twice is run off as quickly as possible. When this company was no longer locally-owned, it lost its value to the community. I would be shocked if it's still here in 10 years.
